Everything you need to know before booking.
Reserve with a 25% deposit — your card is securely saved, and the remaining balance is charged automatically 45 days before departure. The deposit option is available for departures more than 60 days away; within 60 days, bookings are paid in full. The one exception is the Thailand Heritage Escape, which is paid in full at booking. You can also pay in full up front — or pay over time with Affirm or Klarna at checkout.
There’s nothing you need to do. The card used for your deposit is securely saved, and the remaining balance is charged automatically 45 days before departure. Prefer to pay in full up front or spread it out with Affirm or Klarna? Just choose that at checkout.
From time to time we run limited-time offers and promotional codes on select departures. When a promotion is active, it's shown on the site and applied automatically — or with a code — at checkout. Offers can’t be combined: while a sale is running, sale pricing is applied automatically and promo codes can’t be added on top. All tours are priced per person.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing (by email to [email protected]). Your refund is determined by the date we receive your written notice. Flights are booked directly with the airline or our partner site, so the airline’s own fare rules and change fees apply; Asia Bound never charges for air and flights are not part of the refund amounts below:
Your balance is charged automatically 45 days before departure because that is when your space is fully committed with our Thailand operator — the same point at which bookings become non-refundable.
The refund date is determined by when we receive your written notice, not the date you decide to cancel. Refunds are issued to your original payment method. Asia Bound is not responsible for costs arising from circumstances beyond our control, including weather, natural events, flight disruptions, or government actions.
Private journeys follow the same deposit and cancellation schedule as our scheduled tours; the minimum-group-size clause does not apply.

Every payment runs through Stripe’s encrypted, PCI-compliant checkout — we never see or store your card number — and your tour is operated on the ground by Bigcountry Experience, our established local operator in Thailand. Want to double-check any of it before you book? Call us at 1-844-274-2263 and a real person in the U.S. will walk you through it.
Refund Protection is an optional service you can add at checkout by choosing a Refundable booking — it is not insurance. If a protected reason keeps you from traveling, your prepaid, nonrefundable trip cost may be reimbursable. It costs 6.5% of your prepaid trip cost (your tour price after any discount, plus any single supplement and extra-night add-on), is charged in full at booking, and can’t be added after checkout.
Protected reasons include serious illness, injury or death; severe weather that cancels your flight; jury duty or a court appearance; job loss (layoff or termination); a home made uninhabitable — and more. The full list of protected reasons and their limits is in your Description of Coverage, which is emailed to you when you enroll.
Yes — the protection cost is fully refundable within 72 hours of purchase (the free look period). After that it is non-refundable, while your protection stays in place through your departure date.
Contact the plan administrator, Go Ready: complete the Refund Request Form, call (888) 508-7720, or email [email protected]. Requests should be submitted within 90 days of your cancellation.
Asia Bound doesn’t sell flights — you book them directly with the airline or through our flight search, so they aren’t part of your Asia Bound trip cost and Refund Protection doesn’t cover them. The airline’s own fare rules and change fees apply; many airlines and card issuers offer their own trip protection.
In the rare event we cancel a departure — for example, if a group doesn’t reach its minimum size — your Refund Protection transfers to your rebooked trip at no additional cost. You never lose your protection because of a change we made.

Our prices are land-only — hotels, guides, transport, and activities are included, but international airfare is not. This lets you use miles or choose your preferred airline. We’ll help you find the best value on flights for your dates, with no markup: after you book, we match flights to your tour’s arrival and departure windows, and you buy the one you choose on our flight search or directly from the airline — at the airline’s own fare.
Thailand Discovery, Thailand Tropical Escape and Thailand Heritage Escape: in and out of Bangkok (BKK). Thailand Culinary Journey: into Bangkok, home from Chiang Mai (CNX). Grand Thailand Journey: into Bangkok, home from Phuket (HKT). Open-jaw (multi-city) tickets are normal on those two routes — we help you find one.
U.S. passport holders can typically enter Thailand visa-free for tourism. Your passport must be valid 6+ months beyond travel. Full guidance is sent after booking.
As soon as your deposit is received, you’ll get a confirmation email with your booking reference and everything you need to start preparing. From there, our U.S.-based team keeps you informed the whole way to departure:
Your remaining balance is charged automatically 45 days before departure, and once you land in Thailand, your local guide takes it from there.
On our fly-in tours — yes. You’ll be welcomed on arrival: our local team handles your airport pickup and transfer to your hotel, so there’s no need to arrange your own ride. Your exact pickup details, meeting point, and guide contact arrive in your 7-day Pre-Arrival email, and your 'See You Tomorrow!' email the day before includes a WhatsApp contact and emergency number. The in-country Thailand Heritage Escape is the exception: there is no airport pickup — you make your own way to your group hotel in Bangkok (named in your pre-departure email), and your guide meets the group in the hotel lobby on Day 1.
Small and personal — a small group, and we'll confirm the maximum for your specific departure when you book. Departures are planned around a minimum group size of 15, but whether a smaller group still travels is at the discretion of Bigcountry Experience, our Thailand operator — departures often run as scheduled even below the minimum. If a departure is ever cancelled for low enrollment, we’ll offer you an alternative date or a full refund. Private departures are available on request — contact us directly for pricing and options.
Your one clear price covers deluxe hotel accommodation, an English-speaking tour director, air-conditioned private transport, airport transfers, all entrance fees, the experiences in your itinerary, and meals (the exact count varies by tour and is listed on each itinerary). It also includes any domestic flights within Thailand that your itinerary requires — operated on full-service airlines with 25 kg of checked baggage per person (carry-on per the operating airline; Bangkok domestic flights primarily use Suvarnabhumi Airport, BKK) — and full U.S.-based support.
Not included: international airfare (we’ll help you find the best value on flights for your dates, with no markup), optional activities, visa fees if applicable, and personal expenses and gratuities. No per-city charges to complete your tour — anything optional is shown with its price before you pay.
Our scheduled tours run as designed — each route, hotel and experience is sequenced by our specialists, so the day-to-day itinerary on those doesn’t change trip by trip. You’re always welcome to arrive earlier or stay longer on your own schedule, since you book your own flights. And if you want your own itinerary, we build custom tours: tell us your dates, who’s coming and what you want to see at goasiabound.com/custom (from 2 travelers and 7 days), and you’ll hear from a real person within 2 business days.
We understand you may have a favorite hotel or points you’d love to use, but the accommodations included in our tour packages can’t be substituted with specific hotels or booked using personal loyalty points. This keeps the quality, logistics, and pricing of the overall tour experience consistent for every guest. If you have specific preferences, we’re happy to connect you with a specialist to discuss the best fit within our available options.
You’ll stay in handpicked hotels — mostly 4- to 5-star, well-located and full of local character. We choose each property personally rather than picking a name off a list, and the hotels selected for your journey are confirmed with your travel documents.
Tours are priced per person based on two travelers sharing a room. If you’d prefer your own private room, a single-occupancy supplement applies. The amount depends on the package, and you’ll see the exact supplement for your tour when you select single occupancy during booking.
Our journeys are a moderate activity level — you’ll be on your feet exploring temples, markets, and historic sites, with a good amount of walking each day, often in hot and humid weather, plus some stairs and uneven ground at ancient sites. There’s no trekking or strenuous activity, and the pace blends must-see moments with time to rest, so active seniors travel with us comfortably. If you can walk for a couple of hours across a day in warm conditions and manage stairs, you’ll be in great shape. If you have any mobility concerns, let us know before booking and we’ll help you find the right fit.
We want every traveler to feel looked after, so please let us know about any wheelchair or mobility needs before you book. These journeys involve a lot of walking, often in hot and humid conditions, and many temples, ancient sites, boats, and local transport involve steps, uneven ground, or tight spaces — so the tours aren’t fully wheelchair-accessible. If you have specific needs, we’ll happily connect you with a specialist to talk through what’s possible and help find the best fit.
Families are welcome, and we generally recommend our tours for children ages 12 and up. Older kids who enjoy walking and sightseeing often love the temples, markets, and elephant sanctuary. That said, these are fairly active journeys with a lot of walking each day, often in hot and humid weather, plus steps, uneven ground, boats, tuk-tuks, and trains — so they can be tiring for very young children, and strollers can be difficult to use at many temples and ancient sites. If you’re traveling with kids, reach out before booking and we’ll help you decide whether the tour is the right fit for your family.
Yes. Whether you’re vegetarian, have allergies, or follow a specific diet, let us know when you book and we’ll pass it along to our guides and restaurants. Given how central food is to a Thailand journey, we want every meal to work for you.
Yes. We visit responsible, no-riding sanctuaries that care for rescued elephants, where you’ll have the chance to feed and bathe these gentle giants rather than ride them or watch performances. It’s a respectful, hands-on way to spend time with the animals while supporting their well-being.
No vaccinations are required for entry from the U.S., but some are recommended. Check with your doctor or a travel clinic 4–6 weeks before departure. Your 60-day pre-departure email includes a health and preparation reminder.
Thailand is a year-round destination. The cool, dry months (roughly November to February) are the most popular, while the greener months bring fewer crowds and lush landscapes. Because Thailand is our specialty, we plan each departure around the right conditions for your route.
Light, breathable clothing, modest attire for temple visits (shoulders and knees covered), comfortable walking shoes, and sun protection. Your 30-day 'Get Ready for Thailand' email includes a full packing list tailored to the season.
Thailand uses the Thai baht (THB). Cards are widely accepted in cities and ATMs are easy to find, but carry some cash for markets, street food, and tips. There are plenty of places to exchange US dollars, and your guide will point you to a trusted spot with a competitive rate. Your 30-day email covers currency tips in more detail.
Most hotels offer WiFi, and affordable local SIM cards or eSIMs make staying connected easy. Your 30-day email includes SIM card guidance.
Tipping isn’t obligatory in Thailand but is always appreciated for good service. Gratuities aren’t included in your tour price, so it’s worth setting aside a little for your guides and drivers — and wherever you’ve enjoyed excellent hospitality.
Absolutely — travelers from every country are welcome on all of our tours (the one exception: we can’t yet accept bookings that include a traveler residing in Hawaii). Guests residing outside the U.S. book Tour Only like every guest and arrange their own flights (we help with the search, at no charge and with no markup), and checkout accepts your local address, postal code, and phone number. All prices are in U.S. dollars, and international cards are accepted at our secure checkout.
